Frequently Asked Questions

ALICE Receptionist systems configured for the ALICE Cloud Database can be upgraded to Windows 11. Before performing the update, back up any ALICE Receptionist files on the affected hardware.
ALICE Receptionist systems configured with a Local Database should contact their ALICE Support representative for guidance.

Employees must be added to an ARD's The ALICE interface that appears on the ALICE Kiosk in your Lobby, also known as the ALICE Receptionist Directory membership in order to appear. Depending on your Directory settings, this may be a manual process separate from creating the Employee listing. Learn more about adding an Employee listing to a Directory's membership in our Directory configuration topic.

To change the layout settings, access the ALICE Configuration tool on the ALICE Kiosk. Launch the ALICE Configuration tool and a configuration window will appear. For information on configuring the ARD, refer to the ARD Configuration guide section.
Note: You will need to close the ALICE Receptionist software on the kiosk to access the ALICE Configuration tool.

Whether the ALICE system sends a Caller ID of "ALICE" depends on the communication options being utilized.

ALICE Receptionist Cloud Communications – ALICE Cloud Communications automatically include the Caller ID of "ALICE." Some telecom companies will not include this information unless requested. Contact your telecom company for more details, or assign the ALICE number a Caller ID on your own phone system.

Local Communications – If your team is providing your own communications, contact your phone system's administrator and file a request for the ID to be included with calls from the extension used with the ALICE Receptionist kiosk.
